Minister: Indonesia attacked by Chinese hackers

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of Communications and Information, Tifatul Sembiring said that Indonesian cyber world was attacked by Chinese. Other hackers were from Europe, America, Singapore and Malaysia.

"Website of Ministry of Communication and Information for example, was attacked 39.9 million times during 2012. While a hacker from Jember ever hacked the President's page 5,320 times a year," Sembiring said on Sunday.

However, tthe minister believes that the hackers do not steal data but indicate the weak system which needs to be improved. their behavior are considered different from crackers who usually hack to gain their personal profit by selling the data they steal. Base on data, 64 percent of virtual world players globally are young.
