REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUALA LUMPUR - Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Herman Prayitno said he had appointed a lawyer to assist two Indonesians, Frans Hiu (22 years) and Dharry Frully Hiu (20 years) to be free of death penalty in Malaysia.

"We want to set them free from the death penalty," Prayitno said on Wednesday.

Hiu brothers were sentenced to death by the High Court of Shah Alam in Selangor, Malaysia on October 18, 2012. Prayitno said Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur appointed lawyer from Oei & Azura to tackle the legal process.

The lawyer had submitted an appeal to the High Court. And currently the embassy is monitoring the case.

Hiu brothers come from Pontianak, West Kalimantan. They work as a guard at a play station in Malaysia. They had a fight with a thief at their boss's house. The thief died and Hiu brother were accused of being murderers.
