REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - DC United permits Syamsir Alam to join Indonesia's under-23 league which will compete at SEA Games 2013 in December. DC United owner Erick Thohir said he appreciated Alam being called-up by Young Garuda, the Indonesian squad.

"We are welcome the plan," said Thohir in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Thohir hopes PSSI and Badan Tim Nasional (BTN) will provide the right procedure to call Alam, including sending official letter to the Major League Soccer team management.

"I hope they (PSSI) send an official letter (to DC United) thi month. I'm sure the management will permitt if the letter comes earlier," said the boss of Mahaka Group.

Alam is included into the list of 70 players that will be selected by Indonesia's U-23 coach Rahmad Darmawan in August."Hopefully Alam can perform his best so he will make it to the first team," said Thohir.

Twenty-year old Alam is recently described as Indonesian future star. However, he never been called-up by Indonesia senior team and have not played yet for DC United first team since his arrival in United States last February.
