REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA - Taiwan has built six mosques and 40 halal restaurant outlets that spread across several sections to meet the demands of Muslim visitors. Moreover, dozens of hotels in the capital city of Taipei have put stickers 'Qiblah direction' in each room.
“Over the last two years, There are significant increase of Muslim visitors who traveled to Taiwan, so we need to increase their religious facilities," Director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Tony Wu, said on Saturday.
The mosques are located in six regions. In Taipei, there are Grand Mosque of Taipei and Taipei Cultural Mosque. Then, near Taoyuan International Airport, there is a mosque names Lunggang Mosque. The rest mosques are in south of the capital, consist of Tai Chung Mosque in Central Taiwan, Tainan Mosque and Kaohsiung Mosque.
