REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia won three gold medals, five silvers and 13 bronze at the Asian Taekwondo Championships 11th in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar which ended this weekend. Indonesian team was represented by Universal Takwondo Indonesia Profesional (UTI Pro).
The three gold medals was presented in each category, junior class. First category, junior class (men) under 73 kilograms (kg). Tiekpho Ivander defeated Khir Amir Salam from Malaysia by score 6-3. Second category, junior class (men) under 78 kg class, Hianwi Fardim from Batam succesfully followed Ivander by defeating Alejandro Joel Felipe from Philippines. Alejandro could not continue competition due to leg injury.
"Third category, junior class (women) under 44 kg via Dinda Meririsia who was a narrow win over Dio Nio from Philippines," Indonesian coach Satriyono said on Sunday.
