REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI - Regional government of Sukabumi, West Java, detained 50 illegal immigrants from Iraq at Pelabuhanratu port this weekend. They wanted to sail to Christmas Island in Australia through the waters of Sukabumi.

Head of Immigration Control and Enforcement in Sukabumi, Jayadi Isman, said that now the immigrants were placed at Augusta Hotel, Cicantayan district. "The immigrants were evacuated from Cisarua in Bogor using four wheeled vehicles to Pelabuhanratu," he said on Sunday.

It was not the first case for regional government. On April 10 and 20, 2013, there were two cases of illegal immigrants that were secured at Pelabuhanratu. In the first case there were 35 illegal immigrants from Iran, while the second consisted of 14 immigrants from Afghanistan.
