REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR - Indonesian government revises Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI), paying more attention to the development of green economy.

"Led by Coordinating Minister of Economy, Hatta Rajasa, the Committee of Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development is revising the MP3EI," Deputy Assistant of Regional Infrastructure and Development at the Coordinating Ministry of Economy, Wahyu Utomo, said on Sunday.

Utomo said the building of infrastructure must be adjusted with nature to avoid environmental problems. The revision is a response to the world's demand to Indonesia to reduce the green house effect. With huge population, Indonesia will be the center of growth and building sustainable infrastructures is necessary.

Earlier Deputy on Infrastructure of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Deddy S Priyatna, said that the institution had met some governors and discussed MP3EI Corridor Sumatera. Most of the governors reiterated the importance of infrastructure such as ports, roads, airports, electricity and railway.
