REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN - Indonesia seeks wider access to export Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and its derivative products to Nigeria. Nigeria has large demand of CPO approximately two million tonnes per year.

"Nigerian business activities have push the demands of CPO," the Head of Indonesian Palm Oil Board (DMSI), Derom Bangun, said on Wednesday. DMSI met the Nigerian businessmen on early February.

Bangun said that based on the data, Indonesian export to Nigeria was still low. In 2012, Indonesia exported 3,215 tonnes CPO until November. Most of the products are in the form RDB Olein or cooking oil.

"We hope the export of palm oil can increase with this cooperation," Bangun said. Indonesia also cooperates with farmers group in Nigeria and palm oil association in Ivory Coast to decrease the anti-palm oil campaign in international market.
