REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) installs Sohibul Iman as new deputy speaker of the House of Representatives on economy and finance after the former Deputy Speaker Anis Matta stepped down to focus on leading PKS.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Marzuki Alie, said Iman was the right figure as he had a good experience. He expects Iman to boost the performance of the parliament.
"Performance of the House has always become the spotlight. We hope Sohibul Iman can boost our performance," Alie said on Tuesday.
Iman previously served as the Rector of Universitas Paramadina and researcher of Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT). He was also a member of Commission XI, VII and VI at the House. Iman will prioritize on four matters; enforcing ethical code, enforcing transparency on legislation process, boosting productivity of legislation and enhancing public access system towards parliament's products.
