Pertamina: Car Free Night cuts the fuel usage

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU - Indonesian State-owned oil and gas company, Pertamina, announced that Car Free Night event held in several cities in Indonesia last night successfully cut the usage of subsidized fuel.

"The saving is significant during car free night," Assistant Customer Relation-FRM Region I Pertamina, Sonny Mirath, said on Tuesday. He added that Pertamina appreciated local government and police which conducted car free night in new year's eve.

He explained that the potency of savings was enormous when people supported the program. Car free night was held in several cities, including Jakarta, Bandung, Pekanbaru and Riau.

Mirath said the usage of subsidized fuel usually increased by seven percent in new year's eve. Pertamina has always added the supply of subsidized fuel since a week before new year.
