REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Australia has been teaching Indonesian students for more than 60 years. To address the needs of industry for highly qualified and skilled graduates, Austrade in partnership with IKAMA, will deliver the inaugural Australian Graduates Job Fair in Jakarta on 10 November 2012.
Eleven Australian universities and 32 Australian and Indonesian companies are participating in this event, with over 200 graduates expected to attend. Over 18,000 Indonesian students currently enrolled in Australian education institutions.
“Australian graduates, including international graduates, are highly sought after by employers and the strong participation by business at this event demonstrates the perception of industry of the employability of Indonesian students with an Australian qualification,” states Kym Hewett, Senior Trade Commissioner, in a press release obtained by Republika.
The Australian Graduates Job Fair will provide graduates the opportunity to meet potential employers in Indonesia from top enterprises across a wide range of industries. “This is an exciting initiative which will create potential future career opportunities for our Alumni and is part of our overarching strategy to assist Indonesian industry build capacity in key skill areas,” states Kym Hewett.
