REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Leading by a new governor, Jakarta will continue the monorail project after halted. However, the new contractor, PT Adhi Karya, which is chosen by Ministry of State-owned Company claims that this project will not be related with the old one managed by PT Jakarta Monorail.

Adhi Karya said on Friday that they had submitted a new proposal to government. The Executive Director of PT Adhi Karya, Kiswodarmawan, explained that the building of monorail would be using domestic products for its components.

The train, he said, would be produced by Indonesian Train Industry (INKA), while the system would be from State Electronics Institution (LEN). The communication is from Indonesian Telecommunication or known as Telkom. Meanwhile, Adhi Karya itself will design the construction. Kiswo said that the route was still a concept. He is waiting for Jakarta Provincial Government to approve the new proposal and concept.
