REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU - Indonesia's Ministry of Youth and Sports is preparing a program called Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia -Ed). This program is aimed to nurture professional athletes to be ready to compete internationally.

"Golden Indonesia is a program to seek Indonesian first class athletes to win international competition," the Minister of Youth and Sports Andi Mallarangeng said on Sunday. Through Golden Indonesia, the athletes are expected to give proud contribution for Indonesia.

The program, he said, would not focus only in a branch of sport, but also for all branches. "It must be supported by all parties, from local government to central government," he said. The program will also seek for disabled athletes because they have opportunity to win the competition as well.
