REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Boediono is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on October 21 to perform the pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam. His departure was upon the invitation of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, the spokesman of Vice President, Yopi Hidayat, said.
"Vice President will not be in duty. He is going to do hajj upon invitation of King Abdullah," Hidayat said on Thursday.
Boediono will go to Saudi Arabia with his entourage, his wife, his son, and his son-in-law. Hidayat said that the entourage would not decrease the quota for Indonesian hajj pilgrims as they were the king's guests. They are scheduled to depart using B 737 of Indonesian Air Forces.
