REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - About 20 units of used Electric Railway (KRL) from Japan arrived in Terminal 3 of Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta on Monday. The railway coaches, departing from Japan two weeks ago, were shipped using Malaysian ship Shinline 12 Kuching.

The trains look dirty and obsolete. The 20-meter grey railway coach once was used by Tokyo Metroline. It was last used on August 2012. After being unloaded from the ship, the railway coaches will be taken to Pasoso Station in Tanjung Priok and then moved to Yasa Hall in Manggarai.

Technical Director of Indonesian Railway (KAI) Commuter, Resman Manurung, said the spare parts of the train would be delivered from Japan. The 20 units of railway coaches will be assembled into two trains.

Each railway coach can hold up at least 150 passengers. The trains were produced in Japan on 1988 to early 1990.
