SBY to share Indonesian experience at the UN General Assembly

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) will depart for New York, US, this weekend for a series of visits on September 22-30. SBY will also attend the 67th United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

Presidential Staff for International Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah, said on press release on Friday that SBY would deliver his speech in a general debate session on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, SBY is scheduled to deliver a speech in a business forum in New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

"President Yudhoyono will deliver speech on government's step in maintaining the sustainable Indonesian economic growth," he said. President also plans to meet a number of businessmen in US to increase trade and investment.

Then, SBY will lead the first meeting of High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

While in New York, SBY will receive two awards:"Valuing Nature Awards for Leadership in the Coral Triangle Initiative" from The Nature Conservancy, WRI & WWF, and another award "USABC 21st Century Economic Achievement" from US-ASEAN Business Council.
