REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Officials from Indonesia and Timor Leste are scheduled to discuss the two countries` border problems during the Joint Border Commission`s meeting, which will be held in Timor Leste in October 2012, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa.
"Currently, there are three unresolved issues relating to the border areas of Indonesia and Timor Leste. We expect to discuss the matter in October. Meanwhile, we will continue our efforts to maintain peace in the region," he said on Tuesday.
"Indonesia and Timor Leste face border-related problems in three areas, namely between Delomil (in Belu district of Indonesia) and Memo (Timor Leste); Bijael Sunan (Timor Tengah Utara district) and Oben Manunasasi (Timor Leste); and Noelbesi (Kupang district) and Citrana (in Oecusse district of Timor Leste)," Marty added.
