SBY to offers MP3EI project to Russia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -  President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) will offer the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI) Program to Russian entrepreneurs during his visit to Vladivostok, Russia. The offer will be made on the sideline of APEC Summit in the country on September 8-9.

"I will meet Russian entrepreneurs who have strong willingness to invest outside Java Island," SBY said in Halim Perdanakusuma Airport on Wednesday before leaving to Russia.

He said that the investment process was ongoing but he would keep offering several projects in MP3EI. This program needs a lot investment. Investment for infrastructure and manufacturing industry projects last year reached 400 trillion IDR.

There are 135 projects of infrastructure and real sector development in the program with the investment value in around 490 trillion IDR. Government has a target to finish six economic corridor in MP3EI; Sumatra, Kalimantan, Jawa, Sulawesi, Bali dan Nusa Tenggara, and also Papua and Maluku. The investment value 2011-2014 on those corridors reaches 3,350 trillion IDR with 835.6 trillion IDR coming from the subsidiaries of state owned enterprise.
