REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU - The value of trading transaction between Indonesia and Malaysia in 2011 reaches 55.92 billion RM or 18.30 billion USD or around 180 trillion IDR. "The number is increasing sharply in around 24 trillion IDR or 8.42 billion RM compared to 2010," Malaysia's Consulate, Azizan Ismail, said on Sunday.
On trade and investment sectors, he said, Malaysia considered Indonesia as important partner with big contribution. Indonesia is also economic partner for the development of Malaysia.
In ASEAN, Indonesia is the third biggest partnership of Malaysia, after Singapore and Thailand. He said that Malaysia believed the economic cooperation with Indonesia would keep increasing. Malaysia also conducts some efforts to strengthen economic relationship with Indonesia, including on investment and the management of plantation harvest.
Malaysia also sits on number eight for the biggest investors in Indonesia. He said that the value kept increasing along with the export value.
