REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Agency of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) predicts normal dry season until 2012. The prediction is based on some criteria, such as El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Dipole Mode in Indian Ocean.

Yet, some regions suffer drought that leads to water crisis and other water related problems. Indonesian National Board of Disaster Management (BNPB) has prepared an action to face the drought.

"The total of provided funds is 60 billion IDR," the Head of Data and Information Center of BNPB Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said.

He explained that the priority was nine provinces; Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) dan West Papua. The efforts are distributing the water and managing the water for agriculture.

The distribution will be given through water tank, water pump, artesian well, artificial rain, and reservoir. The distribution has been conducted in several areas, such as East Java.
