REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Chairman of Indonesian Red Cross Jusuf Kalla said Rohingya conflict was similar to the conflicts in Ambon and Poso. The conflict was started from individual conflict that led to communal conflict and extended to religious problem.

Led by Kalla, Indonesian delegation visited the location of Rohingya conflict. He also met Myanmar's President U Thein Sein. Kalla explained that the health condition of Rohingya refugee was declining amid the lack of clean water.

However, he did not face difficult challenges while entering refugee camp. Kalla also said that most of the victims whose house was burned were still afraid of coming back.

Indonesian Red Cross, represented by two Secretary General of Indonesian Red Cross, is now preparing the dispatch of aid for Rohingya. "We will conduct the operation after Eid al-Fitr. We will send off our volunteers along with those from other member states of OIC," Kalla said.

The aid is in the form of food, medicine and infrastructure funded by Indonesian Red Cross and member states of OIC. The amount of the refugee is 8,000, but Indonesian Red Cross will only help half of them. "We share the task with OIC," he said.
