British FM: Ramadhan mubarak

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - British Foreign Minister sent his warm wishes on Ramadhan. The fasting month which characterized by charity and compassion, he said, reminded of the shared values between Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

“As the Islamic holy month of Ramadan begins I send my warm wishes to Muslims in Britain and across the world: Ramadan Mubarak," Hague said in a written statement released by the British embassy in Jakarta on Friday.

"Ramadan is also an important time for friends and family to gather and remember those less fortunate. The values of charity and compassion that are central to Ramadan are shared by Muslims and non Muslims alike."

Hague also cited his concerns over Syrian issues. "I hope the year ahead will be one in which we will see peace, security and stability restored in Syria," as cited in the statement.
