REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian government needed to seek alternative countries for the export apart from China and ASEAN countries, an economist said. The economist, Aviliani, concerns that soon or later China or ASEAN will be affected by European and American crisis.

"The alternatives for export market are East Asia, Bangladesh, South Afrika, Latin Amerika, and Central Asia. Those countries potentially become new markets for Indonesia," Aviliani said on Wednesday.

"Our target is the country which has the population between 60-100 million people," she said.

She explained that it was the right time to study the characteristic of the states so that Indonesian products would meet their needs. Every country has its own requirements of foreign products. “Only in Indonesia where foreign product can easily enter,” she said and added, that included hazardous waste.
