Taiwan expands electronic industry in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Taiwan will soon expand its electronic industry and IT to Indonesia as Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI) of Taipei signed a Memorandum of Understanding on trade and industry with Employers’ Association of Indonesia (Apindo) on Wednesday.

The Chairman of Apindo, Sofjan Wanandi, said the Taiwan company consisted of electronic companies under Foxconn trademark. They will expand their production in which formerly located in mainland China.

The company, Wanandi said, would not only build one manufacture, but also build special industrial district. The number of the investment will be discussed further.

 “They still seek for the location,” he said. Wanandi hinted that Central Java and East Java were promising location. He said Foxconn probably built the manufacture in Java. “Before the industry is built, they will prepare the human resources,’ Wanandi said.
