REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia stamps with special theme become the prima donna due to its uniqueness. "It is now hard to find the special theme stamps in Indonesia because the world philatelists have bought almost all of it. The price is also soaring," the Chairman of Indonesian Philatelist Board, R Soeyono, said.

For example, he said, the stamps with Water Dragon theme released on Chinese New Year were sold out in a short time. "The stamps are in the hand of world collectors. Most of the Water Dragon stamps are in Singapore," he said.

He added that 90 percent of stamps with batik pattern and stamps made in leather were sold. "Those stamps will be exhibited, but only 10 percent of them," he said.

The exhibition held in Jakarta Convention Center from June 18-24 also presents ancient stamp from Dutch colonialism issued on 1864 with postmark from Ngawi, East Java. The stamp is in the valued of 20 billion IDR.
