Trendy hijab style is now fancied by Indonesian Muslim women. Many creative women invent some new styles. People, who don’t want to look standard, ask their help for a ‘make over’. Now, the hijab classes start to grow from boutique to housing.
Irna Sachram is one of the hijab stylists. She is known for her trendy, unique yet simple style. “It was an experiment initially, but it turns out to be popular among Muslim women,” Irna said. Through her blog, she shows her style. She was so famous in the internet that Mosaicht, a boutique, proposed her as a stylist.
She teaches how to wear hijab for women. Her work is also seen in many photo shoots for magazine, books, catalogue, and fashion shows. “To be a hijab stylist, just be yourself,” she said. Following others only make us overwhelmed.
Another story comes from Rinda Aunillah Sirait. Her idea to become a hijab stylist is to make every Muslim woman fashionable no matter what their class is. On December 2011, she started teaching with two other friends.
She taught from house to house according to demand. “Our style is easy, cheap, beautiful, and syar’i,” Rinda said. Hijab class is actually the development from Rinda’s business. She sells spandex shawl.
Her two-hour hijab workshop package presents three hijab styles. For basic class, the participants get a theory of face shapes, fabrics, and hijab style development. She also lends them a shawl and some accessories. For advanced class, the participants get a shawl and some accessories.
“The neat hijab comes from the right inner. Choose the style that covers the chest,” she said. Don’t have a long time? Use a Moroccan inner. It looks trendy even with a simple shawl.
