REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Amir Syamsudin, said the appeal on Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) rule in corruptor remission was conducted by counting the state’s loss and justice principle. “I take the risk to ruin my own reputation, but I have an interest on doing what I should do,” Syamsuddin said on Monday before the members of Commission III of House of Representatives.

Without submitting the appeal, then the PTUN verdict on remission for corruptors would become a jurisprudence that could apply also to terrorist, drug dealers, and other subjects of organized criminal.

“I dare not to be popular in this case,” he said.
