Good News... Total Asset of Islamic Banking hikes!

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Another good news comes from Indonesian Islamic finance sector, according to a report by central bank or Bank Indonesia (BI). Total asset of Islamic banking in Indonesia enjoys an increase up to 49 percent in the end 2011, compared to the same periode of 2010 or year over year (yoy). 

The asset comes from Islamic Commersial Bank (BUS) and Islamic Business Unit (UUS) with the total account from both is 145.5 trillion IDR while Islamic Rural Bank (BPRS) contributes around 3.5 trillion IDR. At the end of 2010, the total asset of Islamic banking counts 100.3 trillion IDR.   

According to Director of Directorat of Islamic Banking BI, Mulya Effendi Siregar, the total asset also boosts its market share to 4 percent of total national banking. In the earlier year, the market share hovers at 3.28 percent. "Total assset if Islamic banking continuously increasing every year," he said on Monday.  

We also can see 51.7 percent of increase of Depositor Funds (DPK) compared to 2010. The total amount of DPK by the end of 2011 is 118 trillion IDR. BUS dan UUS contribute 115.4 trillion IDR and another 2.6 trillion IDR comes from BPRS.
