225 police officers deployed to secure Tour de Singkarak 2016

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG PANJANG -- Padang Panjang Police, West Sumatra, has deployed a total of 225 personnel to secure the international cycling race Tour de Singkarak (TDS), 2016.

"We are deploying officers at some points to secure the TDS," Chief of Padang Panjang Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant (AKBP) Heru Yulianto said in Padang Panjang, Wednesday (3/8).

He said 225 personnel were deployed in eight points. He also said security is also conducted at the homestay in Padang Panjang.

"For the security at lodging, we deploy as many as 50 officers," he said.

Security will be conducted on 4 August to start the event of the fourth stage on August 9, 2016 with security of TDS. Chief of Padang Panjang mentioned the success of TDS implementation is need understanding and awareness of the various parties, especially the community.

He expects every security personnel can identify their areas of responsibility and doing it with a sense of responsibility that put professional, be assertive and humanist.
