REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- DKI Jakarta Provincial Government launched mobile application Jakarta Aman (Safe Jakarta) on Tuesday. People were urged to download and use the application.

“I also recommend to heads of community units (RT and RW) in Jakarta to download this application. There is also an application for community, so Siskamling (community patrols) can be done,” said Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan on Tuesday.

Anies explained Jakarta Aman application was designed by PT Indonesia Lebih Aman and will be managed by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through DKI Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD). He also asked employees of the provincial government to use the application in order to monitor situation in their areas.

In addition, Anies also expected that all problems which reported through the application can immediately be followed up. Thus, he urged people who saw any kind of incidents to report directly through Jakarta Aman application.

In Jakarta Aman application, there are a number of features. One of those is the emergency button or panic button. The buttoon is integrated with the emergency number 112.

According to PT Indonesia Lebih Aman Director Muhammad Fardhan, the emergency button feature not only connects users to 112. He said Jakarta Aman application is also integrated with other agencies in DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"All users will be notified. People who get an indication within that radius can press the help button. It is the fastest sequence that is in need of help," said Fardhan.

Furthermore, Fardhan said users who experienced incident or saw the incidents could report various things. It is started from criminal incidents, public service needs, emergency ambulances, police, and others.

Not only the panic button and report feature, the Jakarta Aman application also has an e-Siskamling feature or digital scanning. A community can create groups in their neighborhood to tell each other if there are guests visiting within 24 hours.

There is also a feature that contains important numbers around application users. Then, there is a safe family feature. By pressing the walk with me option, family members can observe the position of other family members while traveling.

In fact, Fardhan said, even though this application was issued by the DKI Provincial Government, but users of Jakarta Aman application can be anyone. It also can be used anywhere.

“We already have datas from Sabang to Merauke, so important numbers can be used in all regions in Indonesia. However, security buttons can only be used in Jakarta,” Farhan explained.
