REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice presidential candidate number 02 Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said that Prabowo Subianto camp has received insight from a senior economist, Kwik Kian Gie, ahead of the second debate of the presidential election. The second debate will take place on February 17, 2019.
"Today we will hear insight from Pak Kwik Kian Gie and later from friends in the capital market," said Sandiaga in South Jakarta, on Wednesday (Feb 13).
He explained, after conducting three campaign activities in Central Java, the former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta was getting more convinced that there were opportunities for potential economic improvement. He also saw the community wanted a change in direction of Indonesia's economy.
"I repeatedly stated that this April 17, we can say that it's about economic referendum," said Sandiaga about presidential election held on April 17.
Sandiaga reiterated that presidential election is similar to economic referendum. The people may choose whether to stay with the same approach in managing economy or let the new government work focused more on human development and the development of people's welfare.
Sandiaga said he will continue to carry out activities to capture the aspirations of the community.
"We also have finalized our preparation for the debate and Pak Prabowo also has been ready for simulation of the debate during the past week," he said.
He believed the debate on February 17 will be able to explain in concrete and real about Winning Indonesia Vision of Prabowo-Sandi for self-sufficiency of food, energy, water and the environment. As well as vision of infrastructure development that has more impact on the people.
The debate simulation will be held from Thursday to Sunday. In addition, Sandiaga has several activities addressing the community in East Java.
