BMKG warns Jakartans of potential strong winds

BMKG calls on Jakartans to stay alert.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA --  The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast that strong winds potentially hit Jakarta and its surrounding areas on Sunday. The agency called on the capital city's residents should stay alert.

The warning was issued by the agency through its official website, www.bmkg.go.id, and was quoted by Antara here on Sunday. The BMKG also forecast that light to moderate rains would shower several parts of Jakarta on Sunday afternoon.

The local rains might fall in West Jakarta and Central Jakarta areas while the light to moderate rains would shower South Jakarta and East Jakarta areas in the afternoon.

However, on Sunday morning, the overall weather in Jakarta areas was bright and sunny. The agency also estimated the temperature in Jakarta ranged from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 70 up to 95 percent.
