REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Campaign Team for number 01 candidates (TKN KIK) targeted 78 percent votes for incumbent President Joko Widodo-KH Ma'ruf Amin in Central Java. The calculation was based on the results of Central Java Regional Election in 2018.

"Our voters were around 58 percent in the regional election. At that time, PKB did not join us. PKB voters was approximately 15 percent, so if we look at the results of our last internal survey, our figure can reach 73 percent," said Deputy Chairman of TKN KIK, Eriko Sotarduga at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (Dec 13).

Eriko added that the target was calculated based on additional participation from other parties outside Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). Besides, the activeness of TKN volunteers working for Central Java could help them to achieve the target.

In addition, the PDIP politician also considered it legitimate if Prabowo-Sandiaga's campaign team in its internal survey claimed that electability of number 02 candidates in Central Java had reached 43 percent. However, Eriko remained firm that the results of Jokowi-Maruf survey were currently 73 percent.

"But there are four months left, right?" he said.

Previously, the Director of Materials and Debates for National Winning Agency (BPN), the campaign team of number 02 candidates, Prabowo-Sandiaga, Sudirman Said revealed that the reason for moving BPN headquarters to Central Java was to win the presidential election. He said BPN targeted Prabowo-Sandiaga to get a victory of up to 50 percent in Central Java.

"Insya Allah (God willing), our target is above 50 percent," Sudirman Said said in Jakarta on Wednesday (Dec 12).

Sudirman also explained that BPN was ready to work by relying on volunteer and party networks. Moreover, he added, Prabowo has a cultural base in Central Java.

"He is a descendant of the Kebumen people, grew up in Banyumas. So, he knows very well the terrain of Central Java," he said.
