REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — National Winning Agency (BPN) or Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno pair success team has became more optimistic to win 2019 presidential election. Their have bigger confidence following support of the family of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) founders, namely KH Hasyim Asy’ari, KH Wahab Chasbullah, and KH Bisri Syansuri.
“We are more optimistic to win 2019 presidential election, with the support from NU clerics. It is an extraordinary support,” said BPN member Sodik Mujahid on Friday (Nov 30).
According to Sodik, the support from NU founders family showed that Prabowo is accepted by all parties. During this time, a presidential candidate number 02 often attacked by many issues which cornered him personally.
“Moreover, last night clerics said that Mr. Prabowo is recognized internationally and his assertive attitude doesn’t need to be doubted,” Sodik added.
Furthermore, Sodik refused to comment the rumor about the rejection from one of Islamic Boarding Schools (pesantren) and NU branch in Garut, West Java against a vice presidential candidate of presidential candidate President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), KH Ma’ruf Amin. He stressed BPN focused on embracing the community and establishing friendship with all elements.
“We don’t want to interfere the rumor, also about Mr. Ma’ruf,” Sodik said.
Prabowo and Sandiaga are very pleased with the support of descendants of NU's founders, such as KH Hasyim Asyari, KH Wahab Abdullah, and KH Bisri Syansuri, he noted. The support was conveyed personally at Prabowo's residence in Jakarta on Wednesday evening (Nov 28).
Tens of grandchildren of the NU's founders who met Subianto included Gus Irfan, a grandson of KH Hasyim Asyari; KH Hasib Wahab, a grandson of KH Wahab Abdullah; and KH Hasyim Karim, a grandson of KH Bisri Syansuri.
"Our last pride is how we focus on overcoming economic problems," said Kiai Hasyim at Prabowo's residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, Wednesday (28/11) night.
Kiai Hasyim said that he was proud to see Prabowo as the keynote speaker at The World 2019 Gala Diner held by The Economist in Singapore, on Tuesday (11/27) because through the forum, Prabowo explained the economic program promoted to the CEOs of large companies in the world.
He considered a leader must be clear and convincing when speaking in an international forum and that could be done by Prabowo.
"I hope people can see and judge who really has leadership qualities," he said.
