REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government launched the 2018 Economic Policy Package at the Presidential Palace Complex here on Friday. The package issued following 16 similar packages that had been earlier issued.

Darmin revealed that the government was preparing to reissue the 17th economic policy package but did not divulge details on its core content. In a bid to continue to encourage the welfare of the community through efficient economic activities, the government had in August 2018 issued the 16th economic policy package, set out in a Presidential Regulation on the Acceleration of Business Execution.

The government's economic policy packages aim to improve business licensing service standards that are efficient, easy, and integrated without neglecting good governance.

Through this policy, the government is keen to accelerate the process of issuing business licenses in accordance with service standards, provide certainty of time and costs in licensing processes, and increase coordination and synchronization of ministries and agencies, and local governments.

"In addition, this policy aims to overcome obstacles in the implementation process and utilize information technology through the application of an integrated licensing system (single submission)," Darmin explained.
