REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team at RS Sukanto National Police Hospital has identified three more victim of Lion Air flight JT 610 accident. However, 107 other passengers of the plane have not been identified yet.
“Identification was a result of reconciliation process on Monday at 14.00 WIB (Indonesia West Standard Time),” said National Police chief commissioner Hariyanto on Monday (Nov 12).
The latest identification to three passengers of Lion Air JT 610 recognized Shandy Johan Ramadhan (Male 27), Deryl Fida Febriyanto (Male 27), and Firmansyah Akbar (Male 42). All of them can be identified through DNA examination.
DVI team will continue identify process, even though evacuation to search the victims of the crash has been stopped. So far, there are 195 bags containing body parts of Lion Air flight JT 610 victims.
“From 195 body bags, we have examined all and took DNA samples. Currently still in the process to wait the result,” said National Police DVI team head Sen. Coms. Lisda Cancer.
The Lion Air flight JT 610 crashed into the Java Sea off Tanjung Karawang, West Java, 13 minutes after taking off from Cengkareng's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 6:20 a.m. local time on its way to Pangkalpinang on Monday (Oct 29). The Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, carrying 189 people on board, reportedly lost contact at 6:33 a.m. local time.
In connection with the related authorities' endeavor to unearth the causes of the Lion Air plane crash, Indonesian divers had succeeded in finding the ill-fated Lion Air plane's flight data recorder, or the plane's first black box, on Nov 1.
