REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDARLAMPUNG -- Police arrested 23 people on charges of abusing drugs at a wedding party in the Lampung provincial capital of Bandarlampung.

They were arrested after the police received a tip-off from the public on Friday, Chief of the Bandarlampung City Police Senior Commissioner, Murbani Budi Pitono, said on Saturday.

"Based on the report, we immediately sent our men to the scene. After we arrived there, we found one of them consuming crystal meth," he stated.

He noted that the drug dealer escaped before the police raided the house used for the wedding party.

All the 23 suspects have been taken to the city police station for questioning, he remarked.

During the raid, the police also seized ecstasy pills and suspected crystal meth.
