Old City nightclub to be closed down if violates rule: Anies

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan would not tolerate any discotheque or nightclub in the capital city that violate regulations. All violations will be sanctioned, he remarked.

His statement came following an incident at Old City discotheque, Tambora, West Jakarta. Early on Monday (April 23), a man with initial FB pointed a gun to other visitors. FB also failed the drug test.

"If there is a proof of violation, started from drug, gambling, prostitution, or human trafficking, we will immediately close down the nighclub," said Anies on Thursday (April 26).

Anies asserted nightclubs closure can be done based on Gubernatorial Decree (Pergub) No.18/2018 on the Implementation of Tourism Enterprises in Jakarta. Therefore, entertaiment places that indicated have violated law, will be disciplined.

Anies urged people to not distribute or consume drugs. He said Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to fight drugs, one of the efforts is by disciplining entertainment places that violate law.

"We firmly will fight against drugs," Anies added.

Jakarta Provincial Government has officially revoked sign of tourism business list (TDUP) from three entertainment places in capital city. The three places are Alexis, Exotic discotheque, and Sense Karaoke.
