REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG -- The faction of the Islamic Justice Prosperous Party (PKS) in the People Consultative Assembly (MPR) said it supports call for reactivation of a National Guidelines of State Policy (GBHN). chairman of PKS faction in MPR Tifatul Sembiring said GBHN needed to better guarantee continuity of development.

"State policy guidelines is necessary that development would not depend on the current government," Tifatul said here on Wednesday.

Tifatul said GBHN could lead the national development to a better direction lead.

"GBHN is absolutely necessary . When a president is replaced, the succeeding president is required to continue development based on the GBHN," he said in a seminar on State Policy.

Tifatul said there is no continuity of development in the country after GBHN was no longer used since the time the country entered the era of reformation.

He said GBHN has to be up to date to lead the country to modernity , therefore, the country need to have new GBHN to provide reference for state officials.
