REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned doctor Zubairi Djoerban, a member of Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) Advisory Council related to investigation alleged obstruction of justice case. He will be examined as a witness for Bimanesh Sutarjo, an internist at Medika Permata Hijau hospital who has been determined as a suspect for obstructing investigation of defendant Setya Novantoin e-ID card graft case.
"We will examine him (Zubairi) as a witness for suspect BST (Bimanesh Sutarjo)," said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah on Wednesday (January 17).
Besides Zubairi, KPK investigators also scheduled summon for forensic doctors from University of Indonesia, Budi Sampoerna and Prasetyono. Both of them will be examined as witnesses for Bimanesh.
Febri said, KPK has also re-examined Bimanesh as a witness for other suspect, Fredrich Yunadi who was Novanto's attorney. Bimanesh and Fredrich had allegedly conspired to manipulate Setya's medical records.
They made arrangement for Setya to be hospitalised following a minor car accident in November 2017, in order to miss KPK summon. KPK has decided to detain Bimanesh and Fredrich for 20 days.
The anti-graft institution has sent Bimanesh and Fredrich to two different detention centre. Fredrich was detained at the State First Class Detention Center of East Jakarta KPK Branch since January 13. Meanwhile, Bimanesh was detained since January 12 in the State Class First Detention Center East Jakarta KPK branch located in Pomdam Jaya Guntur.
