REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Chairman of Indonesian Children Protection Commission (KPAI) Asrorun Ni'am Sholeh asked for Facebook to be responsible for the existence of pedophile group namely, Official Loli Candy's Group. The group with its 7,000 members had made the societies worried.

KPAI, Social Ministry, the Ministry of Communication and Information, and the Children Protection Agency had conducted a meeting in dealing with the cyber crime case of the pedophile group in KPAI office, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (March 21).

KPAI took some steps to conduct a legal action and rehabilitation for the children who became the victims. He asked Facebook as the platform provider to be responsible to the existence of the group.

Asrorun hoped Facebook would not ignore the case and keep its user’s safety. He suggested Facebook to make an internal patrol to make sure that the content was not unlawful.

Repetition of the case would indicate there was neglect from Facebook. This would have legal consequences to the Law of Children Protection. Asrorun said KPAI would invite Facebook to discuss about this.

KPAI also asked the law enforcers to implement firm weighting law as mentioned in Law No. 17 in 2016 about Second Revision of the Law of Child Protection on Article 81 because there were hundreds, even thousands of victims.
