REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- Police in Pinrang district, South Sulawesi province, has found 3.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine during a seach on the house of a police officer Brigadier Supardi.
"The chief of the district police led the search at night," spokesman for the South and West Sulawesi Provincial Police Senior Commissioner Frans Barung Mangera said here on Wednesday.
The crystal meth was packed so neatly and kept in different places that other people would find it difficult to identify it, he quoted Chief of Pinrang District Police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Adri Irniadi as saying.
The search involved a total of 20 personnel including the deputy chief of Pinrang district police, ranking officers, and personnel from the detective unit, the security intelligence unit, the motor vehicle patrol unit, and the internal security unit.
During the search, the police discovered crystal meth kept in the cupboard at the house of Brigadier Supardi who is currently attending a course at the state police school in Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi province.
Nearly 400 grams of the crysrtal meth were found at the bed room of Supardi, while 3 kilograms were found in the rice storeroom beneath the wooden house.
"In total, the crystal meth weighes 3.4 kilogram," he said.
