West Java Province recruits motivator to fight child abuse

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Integrated Service Center for Women's Empowerment and Child (P2TP2A) of West Java Province, continued to make efforts to reduce the number of violence. According to the Chairman of P2TP2A, Netty Prasetyani, one of the efforts was to provide guidance to 32 people Family Resilience Motivator Facilitator (Motekar).

Netty said, the child was the successor and assets in the future development of the nation. But in reality, children were abused physically and psychologically by a variety of causes on parenting. Negative impacts on the development of the child so that increased the vulnerability, such as child prostitution and child trafficking.

"By recruiting the community members can be an arm of the government in building networks," said Netty told reporters on Wednesday, July 29.

Moteker existence, she said, to break the existing social problems by building awareness for parents and the community. Duties and roles of Motekar, she said, were to establish a process to facilitate the activities in the community, namely gave a lesson of technological knowledge value and experience to the community.

As well, be a liaison in building relationships with various sources and institutions that could be used by people assisted. She hoped, Moteker was also managing technical matters concerning program measures ranging from needs assessment to monitoring.

"The important thing as Motekar must be highly motivated, self propriety and have good communication patterns," she said.

Meanwhile, according to Head of Women Empowerment, Child Protection and Family Planning of West Java Province, Neni Kencanawati, as many as 32 facilitator of Motekar have been elected from 27 districts / cities in West Java which will provide training to the Motekar cadres. A total of 892 Motekar cadres who will be trained through the four classes, namely on August 3 to  6 2015, as many as 236 on August 19 to 22, 239 on August 25 to 28, and as many as 178 on September 14 to 17 2015.
