REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Head of Bandung District Dadang Naser has declared an "emergency response" status in the wake of the deadly landslide that hit Cibitung hamlet of Margamukti Village, Pangalengan Subdistrict, on Tuesday.

"The emergency response status has been declared for seven days," Naser informed journalists while visiting the disaster site here on Wednesday (6/5)

Naser stated that all villagers have been evacuated to safer places, such as mosques and the village's community center, but those affected by the landslide would likely be relocated to another area for resettlement.

"The victims will also be treated for trauma to initiate healing as part of the post-disaster recovery process," he said.

In another development, 120 police officers had been deployed to secure the landslide site and help search and evacuate the landslide victims.

According to Bandung District Police Chief Adjunct Commissioner Erwin Kurniawan, eight people were still missing, and four others were killed. The landslide buried eight houses and damaged a gas pipeline belonging to Star Energy Geothermal.
