REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police will focus on securing Papua for next general election in 2014. Before entering 2014, the 'Corps of Tri Brata' has mapped a number of points that were considered vulnerable.

National Police will consider all security situations, such as geography, social and character of population. Head of Security Maintenance in National Police, Com Gen Badrodin Haiti said that Eastern Indonesia was still being the focus of attention.

"[Learning] from the last experiences of general elections held in Papua, [We see] this region needed to be a concern," Haiti said on Monday.

The three-star general explained that insecurity in Papua was caused by many indicators. For example, geographical difficulties, extreme weather conditions in some places and also the existence of dangerous armed groups that disrupt security conditions in Papua.

"It must be our focus," Haiti added.
