REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO - Government of Liverpool, UK, will visit Manado in early 2013 to sign cooperation in sports and education. The cooperation includes students exchange and football school.
"A representative from Liverpool, Alexander Meulborne, will arrive in Manado in January to draft the cooperation and sign the Memorandum of Understanding," Vice Mayor of Manado, Vicky Lumentut, said on Saturday.
Lumentut said the cooperation was a continuation of the meeting between Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Queen Elizabeth II. "Manado is the first city in Indonesia to follow up the discussion between both leaders," Lumentut said.
He claimed that Manado had full authority to act in the name of state and government over the cooperation. "Central Government appreciates Manado for conducting sister city cooperation with Liverpool," he said.
