REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA — Musician and Gerindra Party politician Ahmad Dhani Prasetyo to hand over a number of evidences in his defamation case to investigator at East Java Police on Monday (Nov 12). One of the evidences is a cellphone.
According to Ahmad Dhani’s lawyer, Aldwin Rahardian Megantara, the cellphone was used to upload a video that caused his client troubled with defamation case. He will give the evidence to East Java Police on Monday afternoon.
“Yes we will come to East Java Police at aroun 2.00 pm,” said Aldwin on Monday (Nov 12).
Aldwin said he will not bring expert witness at this time. However, he has prepared three expert witnesses to help alleviate the defamation case that snared Ahmad Dhani.
“So far we have prepared expert witnesses and police should send letter to them,” Aldwin added.
Aldwin said he was still waiting for the police summon to the expert witnesses. He stressed until today there was no summon yet for the expert witnesses.
Meanwhile, head of Cyber Crime Unit of the East Java Metro Police Harissandi said Ahmad Dhani has missed his promises to submit evidence for two times. According to the police, the suspect claimed he had to transfer some datas in his cellphone.
"He was supposed to submit it yesterday, it has been two times he said the cellphone will be given, but he made an excuse, saying he waas in Jakarta. From examination on Thursday (Oct 25), he promised to hand it over on Tuesday," Harissandi said in Surabaya, Monday (Nov 12).
Harissandi said the police are ready to search Ahmad Dhani's house if he failed to hand over the evidence on Monday (Nov 12). He said no notification yet from the suspect about the evidence.
"We will search his house on Thursday or Friday," Harissandi said.
Ahmad Dhani defamation case was triggered by refusal of his arrival in Surabaya, East Java, by a group of people. He the failed to join #2019ChangePresident event on last August because of the rejection.
He was reported to East Java Police by Elemen Bela NKRI Coalition because he was considered to have insulted the mass of Koalisi Elemen Bela (KEB) NKRI. The report was officially made by KEB-NKRI chairman Edi Firmanto on August 30.
The evidence included in the report was on the form of video that showed Ahmad Dhani called people who protested his presence as ‘idiot’. Ahmad Dhani then was examined at East Java Police headquarter on Oct 1 as witness. On Oct 18, he was named as suspect in defamation case.
