REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Islam Defenders Front (FPI) leader Habib Rizieq Shihab’s lawyer, Sugito Atmo Prawiro stated his client has filed a police report on the case that made him questioned by Saudi Arabian authorities. Sugito reitertated that based on result of local police investigation, his client was not proven to be perpetrator who put tawheed (Laa Ilaha Ilallah, the oneness of God) flag at one of the walls in his residence.
“He reports related the mysterious tawheed flag that putted up by the unknown,” said Sugito when contacted by Republika.co.id, on Thursday (Nov 8).
The tawheed flag appeared in front of Rizieq’s residence in Saudi Arabia on Nov 5 morning local time. However, one day before, there was no flag at the place.

“So on Nov 4, there was a report of CCTV at the scene was missing or being stolen. And on Nov 5 morning, the tawheed flag appeared,” Sugito added.
In addition, the photos that circulated, first showed tawheed flag in front of Habib Rizieq’s residence. Sugito explained there were certain parties who captured then printed the photos, also reported it to Saudi Arabia police.
Police came to Habib Rizieq’s residence and took him for question related to tawheed flag. Sugito said, when Habib Rizieq left his residence, there were people who captured that.
However, Sugito did not know who had captured the photos. There was suspicion that the person who took the picture was the same with person who putted up the tawheed flag in front of Habib Rizieq’s residence.
Habib Rizieq's report is still in the process. According to Sugito, Saudi Arabia police has responded and soon to investigate it.
Earlier, Foreign Affairs Ministry explained that Habib Rizieq was questioned after local police received a report from Saudi nationals which claimed to have seen a flag allegedly similar to ISIS flag patched at Habib Rizieq's house in Mecca. The ministry has asked its consulate to give assistance to Habib Rizieq.
