REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The incident of a flag bearing tawheed (Laa Ilaha Ilallah, the oneness of God) sentence burning in Garut, West Java reaped condemnation from societies. One of the critics came from Central Board of the Indonesian Youth Mosque Youth Communication Board (DPP BKPRMI). They strongly condemned the case that started by the spread of videos that record tawheed flag that was burned the perpetrators who considered the flag as representation of former Islamic mass organistion Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), which has been disbanded by the government.
DPP BKPRMI assessed the incident hurts the heart of all Muslims hearts. Tawheed is the most basic essence of Islamic teachings.
“Tawheed sentence is the core teachings of Islam,” said DPP BKPRMI chairman Said Aldi al Idrus in a press conference on Tuesday (Oct 23).
Said assessed that organization which contradicted the Pancasila ideology deserved to be dissolved. However, Said asked that the flags bearing the tawheed sentence should not always be stigmatized to HTI.
Therefore, BKPRMI asked authorities to immediately investigate the incident. According to Said, he worried that the burning of tawheed flag could lead disunity between Muslims.
Said expected in this political year, all parties refrain themselves from actions that can divide the unity of the people and the nation. He also asked all BKPRMI cadres to not be emotional, that could harm the nation.
"DPP BKPRMI also appealed to all cadres of BKPRMI brigades throughout Indonesia to calm down and close ranks in facing this problem,” Said added.
Meanwhile, leader of Az Zikra Dhikr Council KH Muhammad Arifin Ilham believed perpetrators who burned tawheed flag did not represent Banser. He called on the people to be patient.
"Alhamdulillah, (thank God), last night three members of Banser have been arrested and others involved in the incident to be arrested soon. We should be wary of provocation to divide us," he said in his Facebook account on Tuesday (Oct 23).
