REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said Indonesia has highly potential strength in human resources. Therefore, he thought development of human resources has to be accelerated.
"Infrastructure is already running in big way. Similarly we need massive program in human resource development as there lies our strength," Jokowi said addressing the 13th anniversary of the Indonesian Christian University here on Monday.
The president said new method in human resource development and creativity in education are needed. Innovation that would solve problem and create added value should be given priority in development, he added.
He asked high educational institutions to provide program for development of entrepreneurship for their students.
"Together we must create ecosystem for development of entrepreneurship, ecosystem for start-up that they could grow not only pursuing profit, but also for the welfare of the people in general," he said.
He reminded national leaders that they have to be able to create a healthy competition during "political year" (pre election campaigns) by not seeking to bring down each other and create disorder and enmity.
Jokowi said the political contest which takes place every five years should not lead to splitting the people only on different political choice.
